The National Golf Club

The National Golf Club at Cape Schanck must rank as the best piece of golf real eastate in the country. The Moonah "Greg Norman" is the largest private golf club in Australia. The ‘Moonah’ (Greg Norman), the ‘Old Course’ (Robert Trent Jones Jnr.) and the ‘Ocean’ (Thomson, Wolveridge & Perrett), are three magnificently designed, world-class, 18 hole championship courses currently ranked 8, 14 and 46 respectively, out of the top 100 Australian courses.

The state-of the-art clubhouse is surrounded by stunning wild vegetation with magnificent views of the sea. It overlooks the Moonah and Ocean courses built on rolling sand dunes in classic ‘linksland’ and is the venue for grand events and celebrations.

The success and popularity of the The Dunes is a direct reflection of the course layout. The tournament course is 6443m, and accolades include being ranked as number 15 in Australia and number 1 public access course in Victoria and Australia. The 9 hole Cups course is a delightful par 33 and very popular with juniors and local residents.
